White statement tops!
Who likes some fashion drama? I do. I do! I bring up the drama that focuses specifically on white buds. In this post, we’re going to take it to the next level…with statement tops. Perfect to wear with jeans or shorts, these will look super chic through the end of summer AND into fall. I don’t know about you, but I love getting a new white blouse that’s nice and fresh… it’s just so classic and an easy way to put together a thoughtful outfit, without thinking much about it. A white top is also one of the most important items on my wardrobe staple.
Here I share basic and chic white tops to complete your summer wardrobe.

Maje embroidered cotton blouse
This white blouse from Maje is so feminine and beautiful. I love the extra drama with the puff sleeves and oversized collar. The elbow-length sleeves are perfect for the transition from summer to fall. It’s also very lightweight and 100% cotton, so it will cover your arms, but also keep you cool. The white straight leg jeans have an ankle length (~27″ inseam), have an unfinished hem and are super high quality denim. No see through problems at all! Can you wear white jeans in the fall and winter? You sure can!

T-shirt with statement sleeve
The star of this look is the white t-shirt with pleated sleeves from See By Chloe. I love the wavy sleeve…it’s unexpected and exciting. See how a statement top can take simple shorts to the next level? The exact top I’m wearing is unfortunately sold out, but I linked a similar option above that I also own and love. These Marissa Web shorts are perfect for summer to wear now, but add a blazer or lightweight jumper to the mix and you’re ready for fall too.

It’s all in the details
I just bought this beautiful embroidered floral top but haven’t had a chance to take pictures wearing it yet. Let me tell you… it’s amazing! There are tiny gems around the cuffs and neckline that are so pretty and the scalloped hem is the perfect unique detail that makes this top sure to be a statement piece! It does run small, so I would go up a size.
Not business like usual
This is definitely not your all-business buttondown. It’s quite sexy with the asymmetrical, off-the-shoulder neckline and thin belt without being over the top. It reminds me of the Maje white button-down blouse I wear repeatedly (I’ll link that too)!
Comfortable as a T-shirt
I love the hem and lace sleeves on this Free People top. It also has an adjustable, layered tie-back. If you’re looking for a raised white top with the comfort of a t-shirt, this is for you!
I love the elbow-length sleeves and pretty eyelet details on this blouse. You can leave it buttoned or open a few to show some more skin. And you all know I can never say no to a puff sleeve!
Ruffles & Lace
Veronica Beard does it again! Just trust me on this one. I love that this raised t-shirt has ruffles, lace AND a puff sleeve.
I could see this top on a beach vacation with high-waisted shorts or jeans and then I’d wear it in the fall with faux leather pants and boots. I love the dramatic oversized sleeves and bow detail at the front.
Frame is one of my favorite blouse brands. I know some of you may shy away from traditional “crop” tops, but when worn with jeans, shorts or high waisted pants, no tummy will show. I love the twisted front!
Subtle and oversized
If you’re looking for a white top that still makes a statement but is just a little more subtle, this is a great option! It has such a flattering neckline!
This is another more subtle option… it has feminine cuts and it’s super lightweight. If you’re concerned about the cutouts, make sure you wear a bralette underneath.
Party in the back
This top has a lot going for it… but it’s gorgeous and I love the sexy cutout and bow on the back!
After a decade in TV news, the desire to help women “look beautiful” led to a career switch. I started my own clothing consultancy, styling “real” women for years. We’re now a community of over 1 million dynamic, vibrant, amazing women over 40… who know age isn’t something to hide from. Life is just beginning for us!!
