Stylish wide-leg pants for summer!
If you can thank the global pandemic for one thing, it’s the increasing popularity of more comfortable clothing. Comfortable clothing is not only acceptable now, it is actually on-trend! As in… the fashion trend ‘seen-on-the-track-on-top-models’. (You can read more about summer fashion trends here.) But today’s loungewear isn’t just the baggy sweat we once dared to wear alone in the privacy of our homes (or college). Today’s loungewear is chic and fitted in the most beautiful, high-quality fabrics. Today’s loungewear will take you from the couch to the curb in five minutes while staying stylish. I think you’ll agree…this is pretty damn awesome!
In honor of the couch to curb movement, I’ve found 3 pairs of wide-leg pants that I like to call sneaky loungewear… because they’re stylish yet so comfortable you really feel like you’re wearing pajama pants!
Loungewear Outfit Formula
The perfect loungewear outfit consists of three chapters and an important tip… the first piece you gadget for the perfect loungewear look, pants that feel like pajamas. The second is a chic but comfortable tee or top. And the third is a pair of stylish yet easy-to-wear shoes.
Okay, now to the IMPORTANT tip.
I used to have to be able to open the door and not be ashamed. I would ask myself, “Can I open the door in this?” Now I’m kicking it up a notch. The question I now ask is: “Can I quickly run an errand in this?”

Meshy Cotton Pants
This first outfit is actually my new outfit formula for the summer. I would wear this to run errands, have a casual lunch or just work from home. These Rails mesh cotton pants are SO soft and breathable I want to live in them. Trust me, they are great! Even if you live in a warmer climate, these pants will keep you cool because the mesh-like cotton is so light. The best part?? They have an elastic waistband! The length is perfect for me (I’m 5’4″) with a small wedge.
I’m wearing the pants with a beautiful ba&sh printed blouse (use code ‘ERIN10’ for a 10% discount on the ba&sh site!). It’s another piece I’ve worn all summer because it’s super chic and the fabric is so light and breathable. I’ve also worn it with jeans and shorts. On my feet I’m wearing some super comfy wedges from Vince Camuto that come in multiple colors and cost less than $100!

The following is a look I actually traveled in (for over 15 hours) but would definitely wear out. These Lovers + Friends pants are super soft, stretchy, have an elastic waistband and a chic split hem. They’re a ribbed knit fabric that’s a little heavier, so these may not work if you live in Texas or Florida, but if you live in a milder climate like Colorado, they’re great! Unfortunately they are sold out, but I’ve linked similar options below. I styled them with a basic white T-shirt and a white blazer with ruffle sleeves from Cinq a Sept. This blazer has quickly become a new favorite, so expect to see a lot of it this summer 😉 On my feet I’m wearing some cool wedge sneakers from Chloe. I wore these sneakers on our trip all over the Middle East and loved how versatile and comfortable they were.
By the way, if you want to see what I wore on our trip to the Middle East, you can find everything in this post.

Elastic Cotton Pants
Do you see a theme here?? The key is that your couch-to-curb look definitely starts with next-level comfy pants. And more specifically comfortable pants with… an elastic waistband! These ATM wide-leg pants are SO good. They have an elasticated waistband that can be folded over, they have a high waist (very flattering) and the material is as soft as your softest cotton T-shirt. The waistband itself is also super wide, so these pants are great for hiding a tummy. These are the perfect pants to wear when traveling, lounging at home or running a few errands and sleeping (yes, they are that comfortable!)
You could dress these pants up with a blouse like I did in #1, but I went for a more casual look and paired them with a puff sleeve t-shirt. The exact t-shirt is sold out, but I’ve attached an almost identical option. On my feet I wear a pair of slip-on sandals from Rag & Bone. They have a memory foam sole, so they are incredibly comfortable. The straps over your foot are also spongy so they don’t cut into your feet. It’s basically like wearing your slippers… but you can even leave the house in them! I mean… what more could you want?
