Netflix Puts Will Smith’s Upcoming Movie ‘Fast & Loose’ On Hold After Its Oscars Saga

It looks like Will Smith’s upcoming movie, Fast And Loose, isn’t going to be continued anytime soon after Netflix decided to delay it following its Oscar-winning saga with Chris Rock.

The film had already lost its scheduled director before Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock during the ceremony last Sunday, complicating the road to shooting even more.

After the loss of the director, Netflix began an urgent search for a new director to lead Smith’s project, but after Will Smith surprised the world when he punched Chris Rock at the Academy Awards, Netflix decided to close its film in the to put on hold.

Netflix was reportedly skeptical about moving forward with Smith in the lead role after his dubious attack on live television.

However, it has not been disclosed whether the project will be shredded, or if Netflix will simply find another star and director couple to lead it.

Previously, Will Smith openly stated that he will be resigning from the Academy, meaning he will not be able to vote for the Oscars or attend special Academy events in the future.

“I am canceling my membership of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and accepting any further ramifications the board deems appropriate,” he wrote in a statement.

“Change takes time and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to conquer reason,” Smith concluded.
