Queen Latifah is another CoverGirl: WWD reports that it has signed multi-hyphenate to the beauty brand, for which she was an ambassador for more than 10 years from 2006. CoverGirl is in “growth mode” under Sue Nabi’s leadership at Coty; of this announcement, Nabi told the publication: “She has been an icon, and my gut feeling and Stefano’s gut feeling [Curti, Coty’s chief brands officer] and the teams in the US is that Queen Latifah will bring to the brand all these generations of consumers who have been in love with the brand in the past.” {WWD}

Moda Operandi launches beauty
Moda Operandi announced it would be entering the beauty space, leaving Jessica Matlin — the host of the “Fat Mascara” podcast and a former editor of Harper’s Bazaar — to head the category. “Beauty is the logical next step for Moda. Our client comes to us for our curated vision of personal style in fashion, fine jewelry and home.
