Since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the eyes of the world have been on Meghan Markle — and her style. We follow the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column ‘Meghan Markle Wore a Thing’.
After a brief (but very charming) appearance at Trooping the Colour, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended a national thanksgiving service Friday morning at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. This is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first appearance alongside the Royal Family since announcing that they would “step back” from their duties in 2020 and move to California – so naturally there is a lot of focus on every move. As usual, Markle rose for the tailors’ meeting.
For the St. Paul’s event, she turned to Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Dior and picked a gray knee-length, belted coat, worn over an organza shirt and a wool and silk skirt, from the house’s Haute Couture collection in the spring of 2022, showing the work of his studios.

All her accessories were also Dior, from the gloves to the shoes to the Stephen Jones hat. According to the Twitter account @whatmegwore, her earrings appear to be Maison Birks’ Snowstorm style, from the Snowflake collection.
