This is a full-time position for a candidate who wishes to pursue a career in procurement and merchandising. The main function of the Assistant Buyer is to assist the purchasing team with all aspects of the buying process – from order entry, budget management, RTVs and shipping supervision. The role of the assistant buyer is to improve the whole buying process.

VACANCIES (may include, but are not limited to):
Purchase order management: enter orders, order changes, cancellations, audit confirmations
Process returns authorizations: Communicate with store teams and any internal and external follow-up
Market preparation: Create and maintain market itinerary for buyers
Image management: collect and archive images from any PO in OneDrive and NCR
Supplier communication: update price adjustments, payment and shipping terms, supplier discounts
Prepare materials for important business meetings: supplier appointments, assortment planning, seasonal presentations
Prepare and distribute supplier sales reports to the appropriate supplier and/or elysewalker team member
Transfer management: Enter and manage the transfer process if necessary
Shipment Management: Oversee communications via email with shipment approval, check requests against purchase orders, manage discrepancies with appropriate parties, and ensure on-time deliveries of goods
Manage damaged product: Communicate with supplier about replacement and RTV
Markdown management: Switch between buyers, planners, visuals and store teams to ensure proper markdown preparation and communication
Oversee special orders and product reservation processes
Answering inquiries from new suppliers by monitoring general purchase emails

Computer skills (strong Excel skills, email and Microsoft applications)
Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Retail Mathematics Skills
Preferably Bachelor’s degree
NCR counterpoint knowledge preferred
Prior shopping experience is preferred (i.e. buying internship or retail level experience)
