How many times have you already traveled, you walk and run, only to regret your choice of shoes later? It’s happened to me more times than I can count. Getting your shoes right is SO difficult and yet SO important. I only had one important pair of shoes with me when we moved to Spain, and on our recent trip to the Middle East I only had three! I wanted to share the best of the best… the shoes that not only look stylish, but are really made for walking.
If you missed the post about our trip to the Middle East, you can find it here. Plus everything I wore and tips for dressing appropriately but stylishly in this post.
SNEAKERS | FOR LESS1) Chloe sneakers
These super cool Chloe sneakers are perfect for traveling because they are neutral and go with everything… Plus they are very comfortable! They have that chunky sole platform that is trendy and adds a bit of height. They are a bit more elegant than a plain white sneaker with the black and camel stitching being super unique. I wore these in the Middle East with jeans, dresses, shorts and skirts. They run TTS.
If you’re interested, I’ve shared more about these sneakers and other summer shoe trends in this video.
SLIDES | FOR LESS2) Mercedes Castillo slides
These Mercedes Castillo slides were another pair of shoes I took to the Middle East and they are SO comfortable. Like…walked for six hours and my feet didn’t hurt! It is really nice high quality white leather with perforated details on the sides so your feet don’t get warm. And they are adjustable! The Birkenstock-esque shoes are very “in” at the moment and these felt like a refined interpretation of the trend. I like white for summer, but they also come in black. They run TTS.
SLIDES3) Rag & Bone Slides
I shared these super comfy flip flops in this post where I showed off an outfit that could go from your couch to the curb and feel legit like pajamas! These sandals have a memory foam sole, which makes them incredibly spongy and comfortable. The straps over your foot are also soft so they don’t cut into your feet. It’s basically like wearing your slippers… but you can even leave the house in them! I mean… what more could you want? I’d wear these around the house, run errands, and yes, even for long days of hiking when traveling! Be careful though, this style of shoes can go from chic to frumpy quickly. When I wear these, I like to wear longer pants or jeans. I have the black, but they also come in white (perfect for summer).
Check out this post for tips on NOT looking shabby.
EXACT SNEAKERS (SOLD OUT) | SIMILAR | FOR LESS | FOR LESS4) Golden Goose Sneakers
It probably won’t surprise you that Golden Goose sneakers are some of my favorite travel shoes. I know they are pricey but the cost per wear is worth it to me. Plus they are SO comfortable, stylish and trendy. Here you can walk endlessly, no problem! Your feet will thank you. For a more affordable sneaker brand, check out Veja. I’ve done a full review of their sneakers here in case you’re interested.
If you missed this post, it features my full review of Golden Goose sneakers, including sizing information, break-in time, and more.
SUPERGA MULE SNEAKERS | GOLD GOOSE MULE SNEAKERS | CONVERSE MULE SNEAKERS5) Slide-on sneakers
Backless sneakers or mule sneakers solve two main problems I have with travel shoes… they don’t rub my heels and they don’t warm my feet! There are tons of slip-on, backless sneaker options out there… even Golden Goose has a few. The sneakers I wear are very old, but I’ve linked a few of my favorite, similar options above…
