“I was nominated for a Peoples Choice Award. I knew I hadn’t won it, but my daughter wanted me to get ready anyway. I told her I had no hair, makeup, or dress, and she said, ‘No. worry, mama, I’ll get you ready.’ I couldn’t break her heart and tell her I didn’t win.”

J’Adore Dior Campaign 2010

“This first campaign I shot with Dior and Jean Baptiste Mondino. We shot on a built-in set in Paris, John Galliano was there too. Jean Baptiste Mondino and I came up with the concept together with John. It was three days full of magic. We knew all that we were working on something iconic, but we didn’t know how iconic this campaign would become.”

“I was thrilled to be approached by Marvel to play the character Clea alongside Benedict Cumberbatch. Since she wouldn’t be introduced to Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness until the very end, all we had to do was focus on who she is and who influenced the way she looked.I worked closely with my longtime friend and hairstylist Adir Abergil to come up with an interpretation of Clea that felt modern and timeless, yet still paid tribute to the original comic book creation.Kate Lee was the brilliant one to came up with the idea of incorporating Clea’s purple look into the makeup. Something I wasn’t convinced would work until she actually did it. She’s brilliant!”

“The first time I cut my hair really short. I remember watching Rosemary’s Baby with Mia Farrow and immediately decided I wanted that haircut ASAP. I think I’ll cut it the next day. Everyone in my “I don’t cut my hair when I want to work. And I’m here to tell young girls that femininity isn’t tied to long hair. In fact, I’ve felt most feminine without long hair.”

“It was a great concept that Leslie Fremar, Adir Abergel and Kate Lee were very involved in creating. Leslie has been my stylist for over ten years and she works closely with Dior. She has such a great understanding of the work on my body and has always been the great link between Dior’s beautiful creations and finding that perfect look for me.”
