Keeping warm in the winter is just easier for people who live in warmer climates. I know this first hand after experiencing the adjustment from the very mild winter season in Spain to the drastic shift here in CO. It’s cold! It took me 20 minutes to get all the ice off my car before going to the supermarket. I think my body has forgotten what it’s like to exist in frigid temperatures! For those of you who live in a place like me where it’s common to see negative numbers, you can’t mess around. You have to be prepared for those sub-zero temperatures. I always want to find functional pieces that are also really stylish. Many of you have been asking about my favorite cold-weather accessories, so I’m sharing some new favorites and pieces that I’ve reacquainted with since returning to the States.
Let’s face it… MITTENS are MUCH warmer than gloves. They just are, but I also love having a chic and warm pair of gloves for driving or grocery shopping… especially a pair like this one that is tech friendly. These beautiful gloves are from Carolina Amato. I want my accessories to have unique details. These gloves have a gray wool blend overlay that can be removed, folded or worn as a sleeve. The gloves are very warm and a great price for the quality!

The next must-have winter accessory is a warm hat! The black hat pictured above is from Etsy. The exact one is sold out but this is a similar one. The second hat is also made of faux fur and inspired by my love for winter white. Faux fur is SO glamorous and very warm too! I like the drama of a Russian style hat. You can also try a faux fur headband to get the same look, but keep in mind that your head will be exposed and you will get cold more easily.

If you’ve been following me for a long time, you know I love wedges, wedge sandals, etc. I’m 6’8 so I like to add some height in every way I can! This is especially true in winter. Nothing makes me feel crazier than thick, flat boots. Ugh (no pun intended). These wedge slippers are super soft and warm. The exact ones are sold out, but I like this year’s version even better! The zipper on the front makes them easy to put on and take off. And I love the slim profile and 2-inch heel. The best part… they are water and snow resistant. The black is really versatile, but they also come in brown.

A warm scarf is an obvious must-have accessory for winter weather! But make sure you get one in a soft, warm fabric. The exact leopard scarf I’m wearing above is sold out, but this is a very similar one that is also cashmere. Cashmere is always an excellent choice for warmth and it is luxurious and soft. It is also wearable all year round. Some other options include faux fur, wool, or fleece. The cream scarf I’m wearing in the second photo is incredibly soft and long enough to wrap around your neck or leave it long and hanging, and it’s not too bulky. It would be a nice addition to your accessory collection and will definitely keep you warm! Find more of my favorite cozy cashmere pieces in this post.
